Report turtle nesting areas.
In Massachusetts, turtles nest in a variety of disturbed landscapes, including gravel pits, powerlines, beaches, dune systems, dirt roads, backyards, roadsides, landfills, and dry fields, as well as naturally occurring point bars, hummocks, pondshores, and clearings. Depending on landscape context, protecting and maintaining these areas can be important to local population viability.
